Live Music, New Cities & Shared Stages
Nomad Musician brings the local music scene into one place: discover a session, explore nearby artists, apply for a paid gig or invite a musician to play. The mobile experience connects these journeys through a full-screen map, conversations and a personal music passport. A warm paper-and-ink interface with a yellow-lime accent ties the experience together. The project also includes a Fastify API for accounts, profiles, venues, location-based events, attendance and real-time conversations, with PostgreSQL persistence and image storage in Cloudflare R2.
My role
Product design and full-stack development across the React Native app and Fastify API, including the shared visual system, custom Mapbox styling, musician and organizer journeys, authentication, event services and messaging infrastructure.

From discovery to a booking request
Connected artist profiles and rates to booking requests and gig applications, giving venues and musicians a clear path from introduction to conversation.
Conversations tied to participation
Linked event creation and attendance to conversations in the API. Authenticated WebSocket updates, message history and read tracking support ongoing coordination.
Tools for organisers
Built dedicated flows for publishing events and open calls, with fees, venues, duration and performance requirements captured in the interface.
A consistent mobile experience
Created shared typography, controls, forms and map styling, supported by a typed API and a WebP image pipeline for uploaded media.
The Musician Passport
A personal profile brings together the musician’s story, current city, availability, saved events and plans. Editable profiles and a clear overview of upcoming sessions keep the experience personal.
Shared Visual System
Reusable typography, buttons, filters, cards and form fields create a consistent editorial interface. Full-bleed photography, restrained borders and a custom map theme carry the same visual language across every screen.
